Dar es Salaam — Participants of the Long Course at the National Academy of Defense Tanzania (NDC-TZ) have today been given a special lecture on the contribution of the private sector in the development of the nation’s economy.
The lecture was presented by the President of the Tanzania National Chamber of Commerce (TNCC), Mr. Vicent Minja, accompanied by the TNCC Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Oscar Kissanga.
The lecture involved 72 participants of the course from 17 countries, including Tanzania, and highlighted in depth the strategic position of the private sector and the importance of strengthening close cooperation between the private sector and government as a key pillar for sustainable development of the nation.
Speaking during the lecture, Mr Minja said sustainable economic growth requires the presence of a strong private sector working shoulder to shoulder with the Government in the implementation of policy and development plans. Aidha, stressed the importance of adding value to domestic resources in Africa to increase competitiveness of African products, develop industries, enhance technology and develop domestic skills.
On his part, Brigadier General Baga Traseas Rutambuka, Senior Instructor of the Navy at the academy, congratulated TNCC for delivering a productive lecture, emphasizing the importance of NDC-TZ participants having a wide understanding of economic and business issues as part of preparation for military leadership and rent.
TNCC has stated that it will continue to collaborate with national and international institutions in promoting trade, investment and private sector development, with an aim of promoting inclusive and sustainable development of the Nation and the African continent as a whole.
