Zanzibar, 7 January 2027-The Second Vice President of Zanzibar, Hon. Hemed Suleiman Abdulla, today was the official guest at the opening of the Zanzibar International Trade Fair (ZITF), held at the exhibition grounds in the Zanzibar Islands, attended by Government leaders, businessmen, investors and various stakeholders from the business sector from within and outside the country.
Speaking during the event, Hon. Hemed Suleiman Abdulla encouraged businessmen and investors to take advantage of the opportunities available to invest and do business in Zanzibar, emphasizing that Zanzibar has a friendly investment environment, many economic opportunities as well as policies and guidelines that support the development of the private sector.
In addition, Hon. Hemed has emphasized the importance of the use of technology in business as a key tool to increase production efficiency, expand markets and enhance the competitiveness of goods and services, noting that the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar will continue to create an enabling environment that will stimulate the use of technology in growing the national economy.
For his part, the Head of the Public Relations and Communications Unit of the Tanzania National Chamber of Commerce (TNCC), Mr. Matina Nkurlu, who is among the participants in the exhibition, said that TNCC’s participation in ZITF aims to strengthen trade relations between Mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar as well as open up new business and investment opportunities for the private sector.
“The ZITF exhibition is an important platform that connects traders, investors and public and private institutions. Through this exhibition, TNCC continues to fulfill its role of representing and defending the interests of the private sector, while helping its members benefit from local and regional market opportunities,” said Mr. Nkurlu.
In line with this, the Second Vice President congratulated the organizers of the exhibition, TanTrade, in collaboration with Unique Touch and the Ministry of Trade and Industrial Development of Zanzibar, for the excellent preparations for the exhibition, which has continued to be a catalyst for trade and investment development in the country.
