Trade and investment opportunities between Tanzania and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) have continued to strengthen following a strategic meeting that brought together the Tanzania National Chamber of Commerce (TNCC), the Tanzanian Embassy in the DRC and the Governor of Maniema State.
Priority sectors are mining (mining and value addition), logistics and transport as well as joint infrastructure investments.
Speaking at the meeting, Maniema State Governor, Hon. Mussa Kabankubi Moise, said,
“Maniema has many strategic resources and we are ready to collaborate with Tanzanian businessmen in developing the mining sector, infrastructure and regional trade for the benefit of all parties.”
On his part, TNCC Vice President for Industry, Mr. Abdul Mwilima, stressed that the chamber will continue to be a bridge to connect businessmen so that these opportunities can be converted into real investment, employment and economic growth.
The partnership is expected to increase cross-border trade and boost the economies of East and Central Africa.
