Tanzanian agricultural traders are looking forward to gaining more international market opportunities following the strengthening of cooperation between Tanzania and Singapore.
This was revealed during a meeting between the Singaporean Ambassador to Tanzania, Hon. Douglas Foo, and the President of the Tanzania National Chamber of Commerce (TNCC), Vicent Minja, held in Dar es Salaam.
Speaking at the meeting, Hon. Ambassador Foo said: “Singapore is ready to work closely with the Tanzanian private sector, especially in the agricultural and food processing sectors, to open up the doors of the international market and add value to locally produced products.”
For his part, TNCC President, Mr. Minja, said, “This partnership is a great opportunity for our agricultural traders to expand markets, increase competitiveness and attract investment in processing industries.
TNCC will continue to be a bridge connecting the Tanzanian private sector with international markets.”
The leaders emphasized promoting trade and investment, especially enabling agricultural traders to access the Singapore market, as well as encouraging investment in manufacturing and food processing.
